After 75 years of being a faithful, justice-oriented and spiritually vibrant congregation in El Cerrito, we are beginning a completely new way of being spiritual community in El Sobrante as founders of The Good Table, the Good Table Cafe, and in partnership with Planting Justice.
Join us for inspiring reflections from spiritual and community leaders, amazing music, and a historic ceremony to consecrate our new space and the founding members of the community. Afterwards, we will eat cake! And if you would prefer fruit or something gluten-free, we’ve got you covered!
Seating is somewhat limited, so please RSVP.
The Planting Justice Farmers Market in El Sobrante is the only QTBIPOC and woman vended market in the country. The farmers market is located directly in front of our exciting new project, The Good Table (a pay what you can plant nursery-cafe-bakery-community space-live music venue-farm & garden store, that will open early next year). We DO NOT charge stall fees and offer all the equipment necessary to have a functioning market booth. The Planting Justice Farmers Market mission is to uplift small businesses while bringing food to a community that has never had a farmers market before. Come enjoy live music, organic farms and delicious food every Sunday at 5166 Sobrante Avenue in El Sobrante, CA. All of our vendors use organic methods of farming and they all accept EBT.
PARKING: Ample parking is available at The El Sobrante Christian High school at 5070 Appian Way, El Sobrante CA 94803. Only 100 feet away from the farmers market!
HOW TO BECOME A VENDOR: We would love to have you join our market! If you have any questions about what is necessary to become a vendor please email our market manager Sam Lustig.

As we get closer to finishing construction, this work + fun day is going to be epic! We will be moving all our gathered kitchen equipment out of our various storage spaces into our two kitchens. We will also need folks to help clean up the site and there are lots of weeding opportunities too!
We will also be doing a free coffee tasting from 1p - 2p on the front patio of the building to choose our “El Sobrante” favorite flavors from Big House Beans. So even if you can’t help, stop by and have a good cup with us!
Moving our stove into the Café space.
Join us each week for our Sunday Gathering at 12n (pacific) with music, prayer, preaching. Our music is eclectic - from rock and roll to ancient chants and whether you come in person or join via zoom, you are invited and welcome to be yourself and find the joy of being in community with other spiritual travelers. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. If you miss a Sunday, you can catch the sermon later via our youtube channel

There is an old zen saying that everyone should meditate for 20 minutes every day unless you are very busy and then you should meditate for an hour!
Our format is simple and it is impossible to do it wrong. We login to our zoom room, ring the bell and sit in shared silence for about 40 minutes. We all have different approaches to meditation. Some of us may be pondering a koan or silently reciting a mantra, a breath prayer or praying the psalms. If you don’t have a practice, we are happy to share some of our wisdom in addition to shared silence.
